Bantei Srei (and friends)

Our final day of touring temples featured those on the Grand Circuit that we hadn’t seen yet, and finished at the small but stunning Bantei Srei.

We started the day at Preah Khan (I think) before moving on to Da Som (I believe) and Eastern Mebon (I presume). I know, I suck for not having the names certain. It’s tough though, I guess. I didn’t have my iPad or a pen to write anything down, there are a lot of temples, it was the third day, and they all have difficult names. That’s probably the main thing. I could better retrace an 11 hour boozefest in Phnom Penh than I can our temple path, since Phnom Penh bars have names like “Black Cat” or “Pontoon,” while temples have names like “Phimeanakas” or “Baksei Chamkrong” (both of which I think we saw).

Anyway, on to the pics.

Based on the hole in this temple’s roof, I assume this is where the ancient Khmer precursor to the Dallas Cowboys played.

As I presume you gathered from the intro, I forget the name of this spot. I’ll let you know when we get to the one I remember.

The baby here is one and a half, and already selling souvenirs.

In fact, the rest are all from Bantei Srei.
